The Quality Engineer/Manager interfaces with engineering, construction, management, clients, and clients’ inspectors on quality-related concerns in the civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural disciplines. This includes ensuring all work is performed in accordance with Alberici’s quality programs, as well as overall management of project site quality systems by third party inspection agencies and subcontractor quality programs.
This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and oversight of project-specific quality assurance/quality control programs and procedures. The Quality Engineer/Manager monitors and surveils all construction activities via routine site audits to assess their level of adherence to company quality standards, identifies opportunities for improvement and administers corrective action as necessary.
Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and code requirements to ensure that the contractors have all the required quality plans, procedures, and certifications is an essential duty of this role. The Quality Engineer/Manager is also accountable for discovering design flaws, developing solutions to design issues, and representing the company as a general contractor proposing economical solutions to the satisfaction of client and contractor.
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or other construction-related field, or a minimum of 5 years’ field experience and exposure to standard practices of successful QA/QC programs. Candidates possessing certifications from organizations such as the American Concrete Institute, American Welding Society, International Code Council, or American Society for Nondestructive Testing are preferred. Must be willing to travel up to 50%.
