Alberici Constructors, Inc., a leading firm in the construction industry with annual revenues exceeding $1 billion and ranked the 37th largest General Contractor in the U.S., is seeking an Estimator II for our subsidiary self-perform contractor, Kienlen Constructors. Kienlen Constructors offers self-performance capabilities in the carpentry, laborer, millwright, and ironworker scopes of work through the direct hiring of union labor throughout the Midwest.

The Estimator II is responsible for assisting senior management in preparing individual estimates and for total preparation of estimates when assigned. The Estimator II is accountable for accurate and timely quantity surveys, and may be responsible for preliminary pricing through full estimates.
Individual responsibilities include integration of project safety requirements, cultivation of suppliers and subcontractor engagement, development of winning strategies, quantity surveys and preliminary construction schedules, and negotiating and/or writing contracts. This role is also responsible to attend and/or facilitate pre-tender meetings, strategy formulation, pricing review, subcontractor scope review workshops, as well as turn-over and buy-out meetings on awarded projects. The Estimator II periodically acts as Estimating Team Leader on smaller scope projects, including directing all estimating efforts and interacting with key leadership throughout organization.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a Bachelor’s degree related to the construction industry, 3+ years’ experience and exposure to estimating self-perform carpenter, millwright, ironworker, and laborers scopes of work. This candidate will ideally have one year of on-the-job field experience in either a construction manager or trades capacity.
Candidates must have the skills and experience to develop winning strategies, perform conceptual and detailed estimates and assist in the development of staffing and schedule approaches. The candidate must also have a firm understanding of a variety of delivery methods as well as associated preconstruction services.
The role requires strong collaboration skills while also being capable of autonomous efforts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Critical thinking and numerical skills are also critical. Candidates with advancement potential will be more favorably considered.
