As a leading force in the construction services industry, Alberici has 100 years of history and annual revenue exceeding 2 billion dollars. We are currently looking to add an accomplished, leadership-focused, and goal-oriented Risk Manager to our St. Louis-based Risk Management staff.
The Risk Manager is responsible for providing support to the Risk Management team, as well as, but not limited to, the following departments: Warehouse, Legal, Safety, Subcontractor Administration, Operations and senior leadership.
This role is accountable for reviewing and coordinating insurance and bond requests, examining owner builders’ risk policies and certificates, and assisting in review of bid specifications and contracts; bringing owner insurance requirements impacting insurance programs to the attention of senior leadership and brokers. This individual will also review RFPs, RFQs, agreements and awarded projects for project opportunities.
The Risk Manager monitors claims correspondence and attends claims review meetings with the goal of providing input or taking action as needed, as well as assisting on litigated claims. This position is responsible for providing requested information for audits and policy renewals, managing retroactivity of legacy insurance programs with prior insurance carriers, conducting actuarial reserve analyses, and other special projects that arise.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree plus five to ten years related experience in insurance and risk management (preferably in the construction industry), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience supervising subordinates and consultants within a Risk Management department regarding insurance, risk management basics, coverages and limits. Internal supervision refers to demonstrating leadership resulting in effective hiring, training, coaching, disciplining, and development of staff in order achieve and maintain departmental and organizational goals.
